découvrez les 40 ans d'engagement humanitaire de msf logistique à travers l'exposition « émotions intenses » à darwin, retraçant leur dévouement et leurs actions sur le terrain.

From March 13 to 22, at Darwin Écosystème in Bordeaux, a unique exhibition highlights forty years of humanitarian commitment from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Logistics. Through an immersive journey, visitors are invited to discover the history of this committed NGO, as well as poignant testimonies illustrating the reality of various intervention fields, particularly the current situation in Gaza. The exhibition is a celebration of humanitarian action, but also a wake-up call about contemporary issues.

An Unprecedented Logistical Commitment

Since its inception, the logistical platform of MSF Logistics, based in Mérignac for thirty-five years, has become a pillar of humanitarian operations. This site ensures the delivery of thousands of medical and non-medical products to disaster-stricken areas around the world. It is here that the tireless work of the team materializes to ensure that aid arrives at its destination in the best conditions and timelines. “Our challenge is to send our products at the right time and under the right conditions,” emphasizes Jane Coyne, the General Director of MSF Logistics, who refers to complex and meticulous operations.

An Immersive Exhibition

The exhibition offers a journey through the history of the organization, marked by numerous challenges. The various facets of the exhibition include large-format photographs, testimonies from those working in the field, as well as a reconstruction of an emergency hospital. This latter aspect allows visitors to grasp the reality of medical interventions in the field. The section dedicated to the modular field hospital presents a surgery room, thus illustrating only a part of the enormous logistics set up during a full deployment.

Focus on Gaza

One of the most striking spaces in the exhibition is undoubtedly capped by the devotion shown to the cause of the conflict victims in Gaza. The walls of this section are adorned with poignant photographs taken since October 7, 2023, highlighting the current humanitarian drama. As Nicolas Beaudouin from MSF explains, the exhibition follows a strict chronology, emphasizing the attacks, population displacements, and difficulties in accessing aid: “In Gaza, it’s difficult. We can no longer send anything,” laments Jacqueline Wilbert, communication officer for MSF Logistics. It is specified that the teams still have a limited stock, for about two months, which underscores the urgency of the situation.

Emotions and Testimonies

The images presented in this exhibition do not leave one indifferent. A visitor expresses her feelings by stating: “It’s heartbreaking“. Through these captured moments, the exhibition pays tribute to the humanitarian teams and the difficulties they face in the field. The collection of elements allows for an intense and touching experience, a true reflection of the commitment of an NGO that, at the cost of enormous sacrifices, continues to fight for access to aid in conflict zones. It reminds the public of the essential link between humanitarian work and the reality of crises, thereby recalling the struggle for human dignity.

In conclusion to this striking exhibition, the mission of MSF Logistics remains an impressive example of commitment in the face of immense challenges, at a time when the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza faces unprecedented accusations and obstacles, further reinforcing its importance and relevance worldwide.
